Happy Heart Day

Grace and greetings.

It has been a while since I have posted a note, so I am posting a quick one here now.

The sun has arrived in Barrow, and it is greatly appreciated.

The last several weeks have been difficult for me as we have once again had a rash of funerals, but this time mixed in with the adults, we lost four infants over a five day period. Those funerals were very hard for me to do, as well as the families themselves.

The first was a memorial service for a set of twins that came six to eight weeks early, one was still born and the other lived for about 45 minutes.

The next was a four month old.

The last infant was another still born to a couple who are still in high school.

Of course intermixed with the infant services, were the normal deaths including a 93 year old great-great grandmother yesterday.

Anyway, this is a quick blog to let you know that we are still alive and active We are all looking forward to Presbytery next week, when all three of us get to go to Anchorage courtesy of the Presbytery of Yukon's present policy of flying in "bush serving families" for the meetings. They may be revisiting this policy since three more pastors with large families are being called to the "Bush". (The Bush is anything that does not connect with the rest of the state via roads).

Gotta run,

Peace and blessings.

Ian
